                       Grief Support Services

 

Losing someone you love... hurts

 

You don't have to go through grief alone - we can help make it easier

 

 

Grief Services Support - is designed to:

  • Remind you that you are not alone.

  • Help you understand that grief is a Normal, Natural, and Necessary process.

  • Help you understand that your feelings, thoughts, behaviors and needs will change.

Normal grief will affect your Thinking, Feeling, and Behavior.  Examples might include:

 

Feelings:

  • Shock

  • Sadness

  • Being overwhelmed

  • Nervousness

  • Anger

  • Guilt

  • Loneliness

  • Relief

  • Emptiness

Thoughts:

  • Disbelief

  • Confusion

  • Inability to concentrate

Behavior:

  • Change in sleeping patterns

  • Change in eating patterns

  • Withdrawal

  • Restlessness

  • Becoming attached to/or avoiding certain places or things

 

Each Person's Responses are unique

 

Grief services support includes:

  • Home visits

  • Volunteer assistance

  • Grief recovery groups

  • A monthly support group for men

  • A monthly support group for women

  • A monthly support group for Survivors of Suicide

  • A monthly social group meeting

  • Participation in an annual memorial service to remember your loved one

 

Grief recovery groups - meet to discuss such topics as:

  • Understanding grief

  • Stress and coping

  • Remembering

  • Role changes

  • Accepting your feelings

 

Home visits - The Family Support Coordinator will call and/or visit you to support and talk with you about your experience.

 

 

Volunteers - Trained volunteers can also help you continue your journey.  Volunteers will afford opportunities to talk with or spend time with someone who will understand your struggles and encourage your growth.
