Hospice Accomplishments of 2001

  • Maintained its membership with the Hospice Alliance of Ohio providing benchmarking data and preferred provider status for most managed care providers in Ohio.
  • Active United Way Member Agency in Fairfield and Hocking County.  Funding supports the Grief Services Program and provided funding for the development of the Children & Adolescent Grief Program..
  • 9th Annual Grief Teleconference held at OU-L in April.
  • Paul Longenecker presented numerous workshops on new Do-Not-Resuscitate law for health care providers and community groups.
  • Volunteers hosted "Tree of Remembrance" and 3rd  Annual "Cookie Walk" events.
  • Continued monthly men's grief support group and started monthly Survivors of Suicide support  group.
  • The Center for Hope was created to consolidate all grief support services.
  • Hosted community forum with Fairfield County District Library, "Wednesdays with Jerome," on end-of-life care.  Dr. Jerome Roche served as series moderator.
